Paintball

Today I’ve done something I’ve been meaning to get around to for years. But for one reason or another it’s something that I’ve just never had an opportunity to take part in. As you might guess from the title, that activity is Paintball! I was invited by one of my friends to Delta Force , and although it wasn’t exactly a cheap day out, it was certainly great fun!

In total we did 12 games (6 scenarios played twice), at first I thought I’d try and run forward and get in the thick of things, but after getting shot very early on in the 1st two games (probably due to me being such a large target!), I decided discretion was the better part of valour! So I took the opportunity of practicing my sniper skills! Which I proved quite adept at, and over the course of the day, I managed to notch up quite a few hits!

I only managed to get 1 bruise (that I can see), and that was on the arm. I’m fairly confident that I’ve a bruise on my arse, where Alex decided it would be funny to shoot me (he said something about friendly fire!), but as I can’t see it, it doesn’t count!

More Travelling

I’m going to Canada! As with all my recent trips, I’ve received loads of notice, in this case 4 whole days (whereas last time I received less than 1 day!). So its off to Kamloops, via Amsterdam and Vancouver for me! The best bit about this trip, is that due to a new company policy any flight over 8 hours allows you to fly business class! Personally I can’t see this policy remaining in place for very long, so I’m going to take advantage of it whilst I have a chance!

Kitchen

We’ve been working on the kitchen for almost 1 month now, and things are certainly progressing (although far slower than I would have liked!). We finally finished putting the ceiling up on Monday, and last night we got the last of the coving in place. The only really nasty (dirty!) job left is the gas pipe, which goes to the (new) Boiler. Once thats in place, we can start rubbing down walls, painting the walls & ceiling, and permanently attaching units to the walls! Dad reckons that the weekend after next, the kitchen will look a lot better than it does now….we’ll just have to wait and see!

UPDATE 16/06: I’ve now added even more photos of the whole decorating process.
