Over the years i’ve moved about quite a lot. So I thought I’d take the opportunity to show you all the highs and lows of the places that i’ve lived, and you never know one day I might even get around to putting up some pictures!
Peterborough 1978-1979
I was born in Peterborough Hospital, way back in 1978. My first few months where spent in my parent’s 2 bedroom house in Peterborough. Needless to say I have no memories of this house, and I don’t know where it was! At some point I’ll find out and add a link here
Garforth, Leeds 1979-1984
Soon after I was born my parent moved to Braemar Drive in Garforth near Leeds, where we lived for several years. My only real memory of this place, is getting in the car on the morning that we where moving house to Marple, and complaining bitterly to my parents that I didn’t want to move house and leave all my friends behind!
Marple, Stockport 1984-1988
In 1984 the Marshall family descended on Marple (more commonly known as the centre of the Universe). Our first house in Marple was a 3 bedroom semi, on Marple Hall Drive. But before too long, it was decided that Neil & Alan where getting too big to share a room, therefore we had to move again….
Marple, Stockport 1988-1998
In 1988 we moved down the road (quite literally down the road, the only part of our address that changed, was the house number!). Our 2nd Marple house was the longest we ever stayed anywhere, and as such there are many memories associated with it….indeed I can never forget the time I had to clean up Alan’s sick from the roof, after he’d been sick outside of his window after consuming too much alcohol!
Eliburn, Livingston 1998-2001
In 1998, Mum & Dad decided it would be a great idea to leave Marple and move up to Scotland. Needless to say this idea wasn’t well received, but as we where all still living at home, none of us really had a choice about it all. Unfortunately just before Mum & Dad moved north, I ended up living in Huntingdon for my 1 year work placement, as part of the University course.
Somersham, Huntingdon 1998-1999 (Student:- Work Placement Year)
Between 98 & 99, I worked for the Ministry of Defence at RAF Wyton, and it was at this time that I finally managed to find a place of my own. Unfortunately the place of my own, cost a fortune and consisted of a kitchen, bathroom, and a main room (which was my living room and bedroom all in one!).
Loxford Tower Halls of Residence, Manchester 1999-2000 (Student:- Final Year)
For my final year at University, I managed to get into the only catered halls of residence at MMU. Rubbish food, but at least i didn’t have too cook or clean!
Student Village Halls of Residence, Manchester 2000-2001 (Student:- Final Year 2)
Due to a slight disagreement with an important lecturer, I found myself once again having to finish off my studies. This proved to be a very fortunate event, as it was half way through this year, that my parents announced that they where moving back to Manchester, which saved me the hassle of having to live in Scotland permanently!
Hadfield, Glossop 2001-2003
When my parents moved back from Scotland, they decided to move to Hadfield, and found a very nice large house on Paradise Street, that could easily accomodate everyone. Unknown to them at the time, but the road they moved onto, is actually the road where a lot of the filming for “The Leagure of Gentlemen” is done. After living here for a few years, i know realise that the filmmakers couldn’t have picked a more appropriate place to film!
Hadfield, Glossop 2003-Present
In 2003 I decided enough was enough, and that it was time I had to move out of my parents home. After a lot of hassle, and expense I eventually managed to buy a house on Brosscroft Village, where I am still living now.
Peach Court, Ocean Gardens, Macau 2007-2008
In August 2007, my company asked me to relocate to Macau for 6 months. The relocation finally happened in October 2007. After an initial couple of weeks in a hotel, I finally found a decent flat on the island of Taipa, in the Ocean Gardens complex.
